One of the areas of the home that sellers often overlook, but has a big impact on buyers is the closet and storage space! When you are cleaning out and preparing your home to sell, be sure to clear out the closets and storage space of clutter as well.  It’s well worth the expense to have a storage unit while your house is on the market, and boxing up items not in use will help you be prepared to move once it’s sold.

Investing in closet organizers as part of your home upgrades will help your home sell. You can’t factor it dollar-for-dollar, but a home with closet systems is much more appealing emotionally to buyers and more likely to solicit an offer – especially if it’s a walk-in closet!

Of course, you’ll need to have things in your closet – but pare down and keep them organized. If the house is empty and you’re staging, it’s a good idea to have a few items hung and on the shelves. Here’s a good example of how an actively used closet should look:
